Our Vision

In part, our mission is to promote excellence, education, ethical conduct and the enhancement of the paralegal profession. LVVPA continually works hard to raise its professional standards, and strives to implement continuing education requirements for voting membership.

Our goals include serving the needs and interests of paralegals in the Las Vegas Valley area, and educating employers of the many roles that paralegals play in the delivery of legal services. LVVPA encourages a high degree of professional standards and ethics among LVVPA members. LVVPA supports and promotes the professional goals of NALA.

LVVPA, formerly known as NPA, and before that, CCOLA, was founded in 1978 by a group of paralegals recognizing a need for a professional association for paralegals. LVVPA is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and Committee Chairs, elected each May by its voting members.

Our History

LVVPA IS YOUR VOICE IN THE PARALEGAL PROFESSION

THE LAS VEGAS VALLEY PARALEGAL ASSOCIATION (LVVPA) provides paralegals in Southern Nevada with a local forum for the exchange of ideas, creative development, and continuing education.

LVVPA (formerly known as NPA, and, before that, CCOLA) was founded in 1978 by a group of paralegals in Southern Nevada. LVVPA is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors and Committee Chairs, elected each May by its active voting members. LVVPA conducts monthly business and education meetings, annual seminars, and supports various community events. Throughout its existence, in over 30 years LVVPA has worked on various projects to promote the paralegal profession. LVVPA has successfully established itself as a valuable resource for paralegals in Southern Nevada.

LVVPA is an affiliate of the National Association of Legal Assistants/Paralegals.  NALA is the nation’s leading paralegal organization. NALA has been in existence since the mid ‘70’s, and provides continuing education and development programs to all paralegals.  NALA developed the certified paralegal program and offers the Certified Paralegal designation for those who have met and maintained national certification standards.
